Architect Group Reino Koivula participated in a competition to design an extension to Päijät-Häme central hospital. The extension was to include patient wards, surgical units, recovery rooms and a maternity clinic. Our team created a unique solution based on building a new, streamlined circular entrance area joining old and new buildings to a coherent campus area. The proposed surgical wards and recovery units are designed with patients and staff in mind.
